Our story
Necrocaser was founded in Lisbon by interior architect Margarida Casimiro with a single conviction: the most expensive mistake in a hospitality fit-out is a layout that was never properly tested. After a decade designing retail and residential interiors, Margarida noticed that cafés and small restaurants were consistently underserved — owners received beautiful mood boards but no actionable plans for counter flow, power distribution, or lighting layers.
Today, Necrocaser Unipessoal Lda operates from a studio on Rua de São Bento, serving independent operators, franchise groups, and property developers across the Lisbon metropolitan area. We remain a concept studio, not a contractor: our deliverables are plans, schedules, and specifications that your build team executes.
What we believe
- Layout is strategy. Seating density, sightlines, and circulation paths determine revenue per square metre more than brand colours ever will.
- Lighting is atmosphere. Three-layer schemes (ambient, task, accent) transform the same furniture between morning coffee service and evening dining.
- Furniture is ergonomics. Chair height, table width, and banquette depth affect dwell time and turnover — we specify dimensions, not brands.
- Compliance is non-negotiable. Every plan references Portuguese accessibility standards (DL 163/2006) and local licensing requirements.
What we don't do
- Sell or supply furniture, fixtures, or equipment
- Manage construction or obtain licensing on your behalf
- Provide food & beverage consulting or menu development
- Promote or design around alcohol as a primary brand element
- Work on venues exceeding 120 m² without a partner architect

Studio visits
We welcome clients by appointment at our São Bento studio, where we maintain a materials library of work surfaces, upholstery samples, and lighting mock-ups. Walk-ins are not available — please book a consultation first. Studio visits are complimentary for projects above €2,500.
